The Expertise Behind the Brand
ParPractical was founded by Jacob Hayes. I am an active-duty United States Marine currently stationed in Okinawa, Japan.
While my day job requires discipline and a focus on the mission, my time on the golf course is where I challenge myself in a different way. Being stationed overseas and moving frequently has taught me the importance of gear that is durable, reliable, and truly worth the space in the bag.
By leveraging tools like Arccos Smart Sensors and the GHIN Mobile system, I try to bring a structured, data-driven perspective to every review. I’m just a student of the game like anyone else, trying to find the most efficient and practical ways to shave strokes off my score while navigating the challenging coastal winds of Okinawa.
How Par Practical Reviews Golf Gear
Whenever possible, I personally test golf gear on the course, at the range, or during practice sessions. I look at performance, feel, durability, ease of use, and whether the product offers good value for everyday golfers.
I cannot personally test every product featured on Par Practical. When an article is based on research rather than hands-on testing, I clearly identify that and use manufacturer information, verified customer feedback, and other reliable sources to evaluate it.
Whether a product is personally tested or carefully researched, the goal remains the same: explain the real benefits, point out the limitations, and help golfers avoid wasting money.
